Thank you all for coming!
In a letter to Thomas Jefferson, John Adams wrote, “Power always sincerely, conscientiously, de très bonne foi, believed itself right. Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak;”
My opponent has implied that I have no experience seeing any court proceeding from start to finish, which makes me unqualified to serve as Clerk of Courts. In 2008, I filed a lawsuit against a rogue police officer who attempted to smear my image and maliciously turn me into the culprit after I justifiably apprehended a trespasser and burglar. The experience opened my eyes to the court system and how unfair it can be. I have since educated myself on the workings of the American judicial system, and I am going to bring change. I am qualified.
With my experience in the court system, the military, and as a servant to our community, I aim to educate others about how the judicial system really works, ensure that Dukes County’s Superior Court runs efficiently and with integrity, and bring our superior court into the 21st century.
In addition to voting next week, I strongly urge you all to write letters to the editor for our local newspapers, The Vineyard Gazette and the Martha’s Vineyard Times, endorsing me for Dukes County Clerk of Courts. It is crucial that we make it known that the status quo has failed to lead us into the future, and it is time for the fresh perspective as well as new leadership that Dukes County Superior Court needs.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to the next six years serving as your Clerk of Courts!
God bless you, and God bless our Superior Court!
